Populii: pay, who can join and open jobs
Crowdsourcing platform launched by Tech Mahindra in December 2023 for AI data micro-tasks: content rating, ad relevance, data collection, transcription and annotation in 80+ languages. Gigs and assessments are shown only inside the app and pay rates are not published. Payouts go out twice a month (2nd and last Wednesday) via Airtm or Payoneer.
Who can join Populii
Hires in: Worldwide. Excluded: Quebec province of Canada, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, Sudan, Syria, Russia, Belarus. Must be able to receive Airtm/Payoneer.. Source

Application steps
- Sign up at app.populii.ai/signup with real name, username, email and password
- Activate account from the verification email
- Set up two-factor authentication with Google or Microsoft Authenticator on first login
- Complete profile incl. country, native and foreign languages; payment details go through approval
- Take qualification assessments offered for your profile
- Apply to gigs under Available Gigs and study the Knowledge Bank training docs/videos

Project-specific qualification assessments; some are scored manually (shown as 0% until graded); retakes are rarely allowed and limited attempts.
Requirements
Real, complete identity details; one account per person; language skills listed in profile; ability to receive Airtm or Payoneer.
Tips to get accepted
- List every language you know since gigs are matched mainly by language
- Do not copy outside text in assessments
- Check that Airtm or Payoneer works in your country before investing time
- Keep to task deadlines or you may be removed from the task

Manually scored assessments can take time; no published wait time.
