About micro1
micro1 is a data lab that helps AI labs & Enterprises train foundational models and agents. We provide frontier evaluations and reinforcement learning environments to improve LLM capabilities, as well as contextual evaluations to monitor and improve AI agents in enterprise settings.
Our AI recruiting agent sources and vets domain experts for our data platform that enables rapid production of high-quality training data. Our research spans high-value, specialized domains (legal, medical, finance, coding, etc.), where expert-level data is the hardest to produce and most valuable for advanced model performance. Our pipeline performance system ensures both quality and velocity.

Your tasks: Design realistic, multi-step finance and accounting tasks with objective criteria for grading the output
micro1 is engaging experienced finance and accounting practitioners to design the tasks that measure what AI systems can actually do. Your domain knowledge is what matters here — no prior AI experience required.
The work is to turn real finance workflows into benchmark tasks: realistic, difficult, and gradable against objective criteria. If you’ve built a review checklist, trained a junior analyst against a standard, or signed off on someone else’s workpapers, that’s the instinct this needs.
Scope of Work
Design multi-step tasks drawn from real finance and accounting work — FP&A analysis, financial reporting, audit procedures, reconciliations — with realistic reference files and clear instructions.
Define objective grading criteria so two qualified reviewers would reach the same verdict on the same output.
Build tasks that require judgment rather than lookup: ones where the right answer depends on reading the materials correctly.
Create or source the supporting materials each task needs: spreadsheets, GL extracts, financial statements, policy documents.
Flag tasks that turn out to be ambiguous or ungradable instead of submitting them anyway.
Deliver approved tasks on schedule and at the required quality level.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on responsibility in FP&A, financial reporting, audit, reconciliations, or accounting — direct ownership of the work, not supervisory-only or adjacent exposure.
Experience creating or applying structured review standards: audit programs, review checklists, close checklists, grading rubrics, or training assessments.
Strong Excel capability and comfort reasoning across multiple documents at once.
CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
Strong written English.
AI or LLM evaluation experience is a plus, but not required.
