Role Title: Graphic and Editorial Design Expert

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

Opportunity Snapshot

Pay: $55 to $100 per hour

Location: Fully remote, worldwide

You’ll need: Professional experience designing for print, web or publications for a company, studio, publisher or client

Your tasks: Review designs and briefs, judge layout, readability and brief match, and explain your decisions in writing

You’ll review graphic and editorial design work and judge it: what works, what doesn’t, and why. This is a good fit if you work as a graphic designer, editorial designer, layout designer or art director and make decisions about how a page, a publication or a brand piece looks and reads.

Scope of Work
Look at designs (posters, covers, page layouts, brand pieces) and judge which one is stronger for a given brief and audience.
Check hierarchy, spacing, type choices, color and how text and images work together.
Flag problems that would show up in production (wrong format, low resolution, margins, print color).
Check that a design fits the brief and the brand or publication style.
Write a short explanation for each decision so a reviewer can follow your reasoning.

What we’re looking for
Professional work as a graphic designer, editorial designer, layout designer, publication designer, art director or brand designer.
Daily use of professional tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Figma.
Experience with real jobs: briefs, revisions, production files and delivery to a client or publisher.
Comfort explaining why one design works and another doesn’t.
Clear written English.

How the selection process works
with your resume and a short profile.
Complete the curation interview.
It is a short conversation about your experience with exhibitions, collections and attribution. You don’t need to prepare, look at anything or write anything. Finishing it is what moves your application forward.
Review.
We check your experience against what the project needs.
Onboarding and first task.
If selected, you get the guidelines and start with an initial task, which is reviewed before you continue.
