Face Video Collection Project
About the Project
We are looking for participants to take part in a short face-video data collection project for AI/ML-related development.
The activity is simple and requires you to record one short video (10–20 seconds) using a front-facing camera.
Eligibility
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be located in the required project country.
Must be able to follow the recording instructions.
Must have a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop with a camera that meets the required video quality.
Your full face, head and both eyes must remain clearly visible during the recording.
Each participant can submit only one video.
Recording Activity
During the recording:
Sit or stand directly in front of the camera.
Imagine 5–7 dots positioned within the camera frame.
Move your nose towards each imaginary dot, as if connecting them.
Pause for approximately 1 second at each dot.
Move your whole head naturally, along with your eyes.
Look naturally towards the next imaginary dot.
Avoid circular or exaggerated head movements.
Keep your complete face and head within the camera frame throughout.
Camera & Video Requirements
Front-facing camera only
Camera positioned approximately at eye level
Minimum 720p resolution
Minimum 30 FPS
Video duration: 10–20 seconds
Format: MP4 or MOV
Device orientation:
Phone: Vertical
Tablet: Vertical or horizontal
Laptop/Desktop: Horizontal
Phones/tablets should be within 7 years of age and capable of meeting the required video quality.
Recording Environment
You may record indoors or outdoors.
The recording may use:
Bright daylight
Artificial light
Low light
Mixed lighting
Your face must remain clearly visible. Avoid excessive darkness, glare, overexposure or strong shadows.
Background
Only one participant should appear in the video.
Avoid having other visible faces or people in the background.
Keep the background as clear as possible.
Appearance & Accessories
The project includes different skin-tone categories, which will be classified using the Monk Skin Tone Scale.
Approved accessories include:
No accessory
Headscarf
Skullcap
Islamic cap
Hijab
Turban
Saudi headgear
Your face and eyes must remain clearly visible.
Not Allowed
The following are strictly prohibited:
Hats or unapproved caps
Sunglasses
Face coverings that hide facial features
Face filters
Beauty filters
AR effects
Face-swapping effects
AI-generated or deepfake videos
Digitally manipulated videos
Reused or duplicate videos
Important
Your video may be rejected if:
The video is shorter than 10 seconds or longer than 20 seconds.
Resolution is below 720p or frame rate is below 30 FPS.
The face, head or eyes are partially outside the frame.
The required head movement is not followed.
The recording contains prohibited filters/accessories.
The video is duplicated, reused or digitally manipulated.
Lighting prevents the face from being clearly assessed.
Only one valid video should be submitted per participant.
