About the Project

We are seeking experienced legal professionals with strong expertise in Japanese commercial and regulatory law to support a legal research and documentation project. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Japanese laws, regulations, legal research, statutory interpretation, and professional legal drafting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed legal research on Japanese commercial and regulatory laws and regulations.

• Analyse statutes, regulations, guidelines, case law, and other authoritative legal sources.

• Provide accurate legal interpretations and reasoned analysis based on the applicable Japanese jurisdiction.

• Draft, review, and refine legal documents, summaries, memoranda, and research outputs.

• Verify legal citations, statutory references, provisions, and supporting authorities.

• Identify relevant regulatory requirements, compliance considerations, and legal risks.

• Ensure all research and documentation is accurate, well-structured, and aligned with applicable Japanese legal standards.

• Work independently while meeting project timelines, quality requirements, and documentation standards.

Candidate Profile

• Licensed Attorney/Bengoshi, JD/LL.M. graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal.

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in legal practice, legal research, drafting, compliance, or advisory work.

• Strong expertise in Japanese Commercial & Regulatory Law.

• Excellent understanding of Japanese statutes, regulations, regulatory frameworks, and legal procedures.

• Strong legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and analytical skills.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent and comprehensive legal research.

• Strong legal drafting and document-review capabilities.

• Excellent citation verification and source validation skills.

• Ability to identify authoritative and reliable legal sources.

• Professional proficiency in Japanese is strongly preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for project communication and documentation, where required.
