Legal Domain Expert – Brazil
About the Project
We are seeking experienced Brazilian legal professionals to support a legal research and analysis project focused on the Brazilian legal and regulatory framework. The selected professionals will be responsible for conducting high-quality legal research, analysing legislation and regulations, validating legal citations, and preparing accurate legal documentation.

Areas of Legal Expertise
Candidates should have strong knowledge and practical/research experience in one or more of the following areas:
Corporate Law – Brazilian corporate structures, company formation, governance, compliance, directors’ duties, and corporate regulations.
Cooperative Regulations – Brazilian laws and regulatory requirements applicable to cooperatives, governance structures, member rights, and compliance.
Municipal Legislation – Brazilian municipal laws, local regulations, ordinances, administrative requirements, and municipal regulatory frameworks.
Commercial Matters – Commercial transactions, contracts, business regulations, corporate/commercial disputes, and applicable Brazilian legislation.
Ability to identify and interpret relevant federal, state, and municipal legislation, as applicable to the assigned research.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed legal research relating to Brazilian laws, regulations, statutes, and regulatory frameworks.
Analyse and interpret Brazilian legislation and assess its application to specific legal questions.
Research and verify primary legal sources, including statutes, regulations, official government publications, and relevant judicial or administrative materials.
Prepare clear, structured, and well-supported legal research outputs.
Draft and review legal documents, summaries, memoranda, and research responses as required.
Verify legal citations, statutory references, provisions, dates, and sources for accuracy.
Identify relevant amendments, repeals, regulatory changes, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
Apply strong legal reasoning to complex or ambiguous legal questions.
Maintain accuracy, consistency, and appropriate legal terminology throughout all deliverables.
Work independently while meeting defined quality standards, timelines, and project requirements.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for professionals who meet the following requirements:
Licensed Attorney/Advogado in Brazil, JD/LL.M. graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal with relevant Brazilian legal expertise.
Minimum 3+ years of relevant legal practice, legal research, drafting, compliance, or advisory experience.
Strong understanding of the Brazilian legal system and regulatory environment.
Demonstrated expertise in Corporate Law, Cooperative Regulations, Municipal Legislation, Commercial Law, or closely related areas.
Excellent legal reasoning and statutory interpretation skills.
Strong legal research and source-verification capabilities.
Experience with legal citation verification and use of authoritative primary sources.
Strong legal drafting and document-review skills.
Ability to understand complex legal questions and provide precise, well-supported research findings.
Excellent written Portuguese communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Active or recent professional experience practising law in Brazil.
Experience working with corporate, commercial, cooperative, or municipal legal matters.
Experience conducting comparative or regulatory legal research.
Familiarity with Brazilian federal, state, and municipal legal databases and official government sources.
Experience supporting legal research, AI/data projects, legal-tech initiatives, or large-scale document review projects is an advantage.
