Toloka worker tasks now live on Mindrift, Scale AI's $12.5M California worker settlement reaches final approval stage, Pareto AI's sign-up page breaks, and we checked more than 40 new names: 1 added, 2 on watch, the rest rejected.
Toloka's annotator page now redirects to Mindrift's welcome page. Mindrift says existing Toloka accounts, balances and history moved over automatically, and you log in with the same details. Toloka itself now sells AI data services to companies.
The McKinney v. Scale AI settlement covers people who did Scale contributor work while living in California between December 10, 2020 and February 28, 2026. About $7.5M is expected to go to workers after fees. Payment is an automatic mailed check; the opt-out deadline was September 3, and the final approval hearing was set for October 30, 2026.

Instawork collects robot-training video during in-person shifts in warehouses, hotels and kitchens in the US and Canada. It is not remote AI training work, so we removed it from our companies list.
A widely shared claim said Mercor onboarded 2,000+ generalists at $45 an hour. We could not verify it. Mercor's own Generalist Expert pool lists $40 to $70 an hour, set per project.
